End-of-Year Campaign 2025: Water, Source of Life and Knowledge

💧 Water, Source of Life and Knowledge Launch of the 2025 End-of-Year Campaign
Before talking about school, we must first talk about water.
In the Nigerien desert, thousands of children cannot go to school because there are no nearby water points, latrines, or adequate hygiene facilities.
Every day, families walk several kilometers in search of water. This burden, often carried by women and girls, represents hours lost for learning, working, or simply living with dignity.
The lack of water in schools also has a direct impact on health and education: without hygiene, diseases spread, and students — especially girls — are the first to drop out.
🌍 A Campaign to Act Together
Faced with this reality, Les Puits du Désert and the NGO Tidène are launching their 2025 End-of-Year Campaign:
“Water, Health and Education for the Girls and Children of the Desert.”
This campaign aims to finance the creation and rehabilitation of water points and sanitation facilities in several schools in the Agadez region, northern Niger.
These simple yet essential infrastructures improve health, reduce absenteeism, and allow every child — girl or boy — to study in a safer, cleaner, and more dignified environment.
💧 Water means health.
💧 Water means dignity.
💧 Water also means education.
